AUTHOR GUIDELINES
Manuscripts submitted to GENETIKA must be written in proper English or Indonesian. The article should follow the required structure, which includes: title, abstract, keywords, introduction, methodology, results and discussion, conclusion, acknowledgment (if any), and references.
The introduction should contain the research background, the gap between theory and practice, relevant state-of-the-art studies, and the novelty of the research being conducted. This part should not exceed 20% of the total manuscript length, and references must come mainly from primary sources such as journal articles.
The methodology should be presented clearly and concisely. It must describe the research design, the instruments, materials, or procedures used, as well as how data was collected and analyzed. The explanation should be operational rather than theoretical, and the length of this section should be a maximum of 10% for qualitative studies or 15% for quantitative studies of the manuscript.
The results and discussion section must take up the majority of the article, at least 60% of the total manuscript. The results must be presented first in order to ensure clarity for the reader, followed by a detailed discussion. Results can be shown in the form of numerical tables, graphs, descriptive narratives, or a combination of these formats. Tables, figures, and graphs should not be too long or too many, and must always be referenced in the text. Tables should be simple, without vertical lines, and only horizontal lines should appear at the top and bottom of the table. Figure and table captions must be clear, and font size within tables or figures may be reduced if necessary for readability. The discussion should provide interpretation and meaning of the results in line with the theoretical framework and not merely restate the findings. It should connect the research outcomes with previous scholarly work, highlighting similarities, differences, and contributions. Citations within the text should follow the IEEE style.
The conclusion should not merely restate the results but must synthesize the main findings, demonstrate how the study addressed the research gap, and provide implications or recommendations for future research.
If applicable, the acknowledgment section may be included to express gratitude to institutions, sponsors, or individuals who contributed significantly to the research.
The references section must follow the IEEE citation style and be managed using reference management tools such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote. All references cited in the manuscript must appear in the reference list, and vice versa. Authors should prioritize literature from reputable journals published within the last ten years.
